10 Things To Do In Montreal This Summer

Montreal is undeniably one of the best cities to spend your summer in. You’ll find everything you could possibly need to have the time of your life: from exquisite food, to great outdoors activities, numerous music festivals, tons of fun terraces to enjoy a glass of sangria towards the end of the afternoon, and clubs to party ’til dawn.

This summer, here are some of the festivities you won’t want to miss:

  1. The Piknic Electronik

    Come shake your body, or simply lay on the grass and chill with your friends, to the sound of great electronic music.

    Piknic Electronik is a huge outdoor electronic music festival that will be held every Sunday from May 17 to September 27, at Jean Drapeau Park, a park located 10 minutes away from downtown Montreal.

    The Piknic brings together electronic music lovers for a day of filled with good music, good food and uum, a few drinks.
    You’re allowed to bring your own food, but not your own drinks (you’ll be able to buy all sorts of beverages there).

    The whole program will be announced on April 29.

  2. Cirque Du Soleil

    Cirque Du Soleil

    is bringing their latest show “Luzia: A Walking Dream To Mexico” to Montreal this year and I am dying to see it!
    Shows run from April 21 to July 17.

  3. Montreal Jazz Fest

    Probably one of the most popular events of the summer, the Jazz Fest transforms downtown Montreal streets in huge concert venues, with 1,000 shows given both indoors (paying) and outdoors (free) from noon to midnight. Amazing artists from all over the world come play at the festival for music lovers’ greatest pleasure.

  4. Festival International Nuits d’Afrique

    Festival International Nuits d’Afrique is another great music festival that celebrates African and Latin American music. It takes place downtown Montreal, with over 90 concerts, given both indoors and outdoors, from July 12, to the 24.

  5. Rogers Cup

    Are you a Tennis fan? Why not attend a match at the Rogers Cup, which will take place in Montreal from July 22 to July 31.

  6. Nuit Blanche Sur Tableau Noir

    The huge Mont-Royal Avenue is taken over by artists who draw and paint on the street all night, for pedestrians’ greatest pleasure. Street food and music make it even more enjoyable to walk by the avenue.

  7. Brunch Cruise

    How about having brunch while enjoying a splendid view of the Saint Lawrence river on board the Cavalier Maxim boat? I wouldn’t mind that!

  9. Ride your bike, or roller skate on the 21km cycle lane of the Saint Lawrence riverbank

  10. Attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada

    If you’re into racing cars, you’ll be excited to attend this event and cheer on the world’s greatest drivers. The event will take place June 10, 11 12.
