Best Hotel in Sault Sainte Marie

If I only had one word to describe my stay at Quattro Hotel Suites and Conference Centre Sault Ste Marie, it would be without the shadow of a doubt, outstanding.

From the amazing customer service to the quality of our suite, restaurant, bar and other amenities, my experience was all sorts of fabulous.

We arrived around 8:30 pm, after an exhausting 13-hour drive from Montreal. An ever so kind front desk agent greeted us and explained everything we needed to know about the hotel.

After a quick tour of our splendid suite that had a comforting home away from home feel to it, we rushed to the hotel’s refined bar and restaurant, where we were welcomed by our wonderful waitress Erin, who seated us at a large and comfortable table. The place was elegant and decorated with taste. Subdued lights made for a relaxing atmosphere and we could not have asked for a better ambiance.

We ordered refreshing white wine and my husband had a local beer from Sudburry. Mind you, the glass of beer came straight out of the freezer for an even better drinking experience.

We proceeded to order Caesar salads, upon Erin’s advice, who claimed it was the best in town and it was, indeed, all sorts of exquisite: Made with REAL bacon (not the fake one served in most restaurants), homemade croutons, dressing and as much grated Parmesan cheese as you wanted.

For our main course, I had THE most delicious wild mushroom chicken with green beans and spinach AND Portobello Ravioli, while my husband had the New York Strip Steak with Fries and we both ordered tiger shrimps and two delicious espresso to conclude our feast (and help us digest!). Yes, we were starving. Believe me when I say that to this day, about a month after our stay at Quattro Hotel Suites and Conference Centre Sault Ste Marie, we still rave about our experience there to everyone who’s interested in knowing about our road trip to the Rocky Mountains. We genuinely adored it.

Anyhow, we went back to our beautiful suite, changed into the hotel’s soft and snug robes, sat on the couch and had a lovely evening before curling up in our King bed that felt more like floating on a cloud.

The next morning, we wanted to make sure we exercised before leaving the hotel, given that we would be driving for another 12-hour before arriving to our next destination. My husband swam in the (huge) indoor pool and did some elliptical bike, while I did cardio and muscle building; the fitness centre is clean and well-equipped, with brand new gear.

We had an all you can eat hot full American breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit juices, delicious coffee, yogurts, cereals, fruits, toasts, muffins, croissants, hard-boiled eggs.

The cherry on top of our already flawless experience with the hotel was when the restaurant’s manager came to talk to us as we were packing our luggage in the car, on our way to the next city. He advised us to stop by hidden gems on the way, which we did and were breath taken by the beauty of the turquoise beaches along Superior Lake.

So if you ever pass by Sault Sainte Marie, make sure you stay at Quattro Hotel and if you needed ONE reason to go to Sault Sainte Marie, the clear waters of Superior Lake’s beaches might just be it. Quattro Hotel is ideally located to start exploring Superior Lake.

Article Update: A year after our first experience at the Quattro, we were lucky to stay at the hotel this summer again, as part of our road trip across Canada. Our stay was short but all sorts of perfect and this time, as we arrived earlier than last year, we had a little more time to enjoy the swimming pool after a long day driving, which was the absolute best way to end our day… the divine cocktails at the hotel’s restaurant were the cherry on top! Here are a few photos of our incredible stay.

A billion thanks again for the formidable stay!
