Best Hotels In Quebec City – Le Bonne Entente

Quebec City is one of my favorite places on earth. I could marvel at the old town’s architecture all day and could spend my life strolling around Rue Saint-Jean, occasionally stopping at a cute coffeeshop to savor a steaming cup of latté while watching pedestrians by the glass window.

Quebec City is a gem of a town and its beauty will never cease to amaze me. As a very touristic town, Quebec City teems with hotels that are located in the heart of the city and while I’m sure they’re all great, we’ve actually stayed in a few amazing ones, there is absolutely nothing quite like staying in a gorgeous and cozy hotel a little outside of the centre, that offers priceless amenities that you would never find in a hotel located downtown.

Last January we stayed at Le Bonne Entente, a five-star hotel located at a 15 minute drive from the town centre. The hotel had us fall head over heels in love with its beauty, its exceptional customer service, and the wide range of amenities it offered. As a matter of fact, we felt so good at the hotel that we did not even go out except to have dinner at the restaurant one night.

Our suite was phenomenal. I gasped in wonder as I opened the door and discovered the living room with a fireplace that I could not wait to light up and enjoy, comfortably seated on the sofa with a glass of champagne in one hand and a slice of scrumptious Oka cheese in the other. This, to me, simply embodies what heaven on earth looks like; it is the paroxysm of happiness and relaxation.

The wall on which the fireplace was placed separates the bedroom from the living room. So lucky for us, not only could we enjoy the fire from the living room, but also from our ever so comfy King bed.

The huge bathroom gave me absolute life with the whirlpool bathtub, huge mirror, minimalist decor that gave me the impression that I was in a 70’s movie, which I loved, of course!

The night of our arrival, we had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, the Monte Cristo Lounge. A beautiful table by the fireplace awaited us and we settled in the gorgeous sofa chairs. I had never seen such a beautiful restaurant and to be honest, I was sold as soon as I saw the sofa chairs and the fireplace as these two elements combined are in my opinion synonym with a laid back and chic atmosphere that I love and look for in a restaurant or bar but often fail to find.

I had an exceptional margarita, delicious oysters, a succulent fish and a mouth-watering chocolate cake for dessert.

The next morning, we tried the à la carte menu which offered many delicious options: I decided to go with the egg Benedicts, while my husband had a traditional egg and bacon breakfast.

The morning after we tried the breakfast buffet that was fantastic! Many healthy options were available, many pastries, waffles, fruits, freshly pressed orange juice, I absolutely loved it.

Since we were planning on staying at the hotel and chill for two days, I decided to try the fitness centre. I don’t normally use hotels’ fitness centres as they’re almost always tucked in the basement, or in a super small room with very little natural light which is depressing. The fitness centre at Le Bonne Entente had big glasss windows on the second floor that allowed for the sunshine to fill the entire room. The gym is equipped with top-notch machines and fitness gear. There’s also a fridge filled with smoothies, and cups containing nuts and cheese that guests can grab and go as a post workout snack. I was utterly amazed.

Last but most definitely not least, the outdoors  jacuzzi was the cherry on top. Just see for yourself and imagine yourself relxing in that warm water with your lover when it’s minus 10 degrees Celsius outside. If that’s not the definition of pure bliss, I surely don’t know what is.

Our stay at the Bonne Entente was magical from the beginning to the end. And it has become one of my absolute favorite hotels ever.
