Best Brunch In Barcelona

DSC_6322IMG_3402

What’s better than a lazy sunday in Barcelona? Although everyday feels like Sunday there, I’m pretty sure nothing tops waking up after noon because you partied until the wee hours of the morning, you don’t feel like making breakfast – or lunch – not like I ever feel like cooking at all, so you call your girlfriends and get ready to have the best brunch you’ve ever had at Brunch & Cake in Passeig de Gracia, the Champs Elysées of Barcelona, one of the city’s poshest areas.

I was trying to think of the best thing to suggest you to try on the menu and, like every time I found myself in front of that carte, I was torn like a white canvas pulled from two different sides, until I realized I didn’t have to pick one meal, because clearly, every single dish is exquisite. And you know, you’re on vacations, you should forget about that strict diet and just savor everything. Or as much as you can. (This state of mind had me gain 20 pounds during my five-month stay in Barcelona.)

So here’s my recommendation when going to Brunch & Cake: order one sweet treat and a salty meal. If you’re going there with friends, make sure you pick different repasts so you can taste various things. I loved the turkey scrambled eggs with feta guacamole and the eggs Benedicts with turkey on waffle were to die for. To satisfy your sweet tooth, just please, do yourself a favor and indulge in the mouth-watering French toast. It’s the best thing I’ve ever had in my existence.
Take a look at the pictures of the few times my friends and I visited Brunch & Cake, to give you an idea of what to expect. You may want to go lay (and digest) by the beach afterwards, because that’s the only thing you’ll feel like doing.

My friend tried the Oven baked brie cheese sandwich, caramelized apple, poached onion, raisins, nuts and fungi and said it was absolutely delicious.
