Montreal’s Best Brunch Restaurant

image

Best brunch in Montreal: are you ready for this restaurant? In addition to being the most important meal of the day, breakfast/brunch happens to be my favorite repast to indulge in. So it’s always with great excitement that I embark on a hunt for the best brunch places, every time I’m in a new city.

Last Sunday in Montreal, we tried Fabergé, a brunch place that I had heard served delectable cuisine in a great atmosphere. And let me tell you, it was probably one of the best brunch and most thoughtful customer service I had ever experienced.

We arrived at 9:30 am, to avoid the line up that tends to form quickly after 10. Inside, families with kids, couples and friends had gathered, while a few people were already waiting to be seated, which gave me some time to gaze at every detail of the interior design, that I loved. Art blends with modern styling to create a relaxing and cozy ambiance that’s perfect to start the day smoothly with your loved one(s): from the superb bar that faces the front door, to the purple velour seats, to the art that fills the space; everything was carefully thought out to proudly represent Montreal and make the customers feel good. What particularly caught my attention, being an art lover, are the huge four-color themed murals that beautifully cover up parts of the restaurant’s walls and ceiling, and reproduce the city’s streets and main monuments in a retro-futuristic way that seems to pay tribute to the modernist architectural era that put Montreal in the world’s spotlight.

Shortly after, a waiter escorted us to our table:

Following the restaurant Manager’s advice, we started by ordering delicious lattes and a flavorful green smoothie, with just the perfect dose of every ingredient (kale, ginger, peach and pineapple). I’m a green smoothie addict, so this was the ideal way in.

We then proceeded with the food: I ordered the mouth-watering chicken waffle which is one of Fabergé’s specialties, while my husband had another menu favorite: the Benny Mac.

The Chicken Waffle came with sriracha cole slaw, home fries, homemade bbq sauce and a cup of seasonal fruits with some extra maple syrup. It was to DIE for. I was full before finishing my plate, but it was so good that I just kept eating!

My husband ordered the “Benny Mac” Eggs Benedicts, which is a Mac ‘n’ Cheese fritter with pulled pork, topped with jalapeño jelly and came with home fries and a cup of seasonal fruits. I obviously had a bite or two of his plate and it tasted delicious.

A cocktail in the morning? Yes, please! (and don’t judge!) We had mimosas: my husband’s was orange juice flavored, mine was hibiscus flower savored. Tasted divine!
