Montreal’s Best Pizza – Pizzeria Napoletana

When settling in a foreign country, you know you’re gonna try to find four types of restaurants: the greatest breakfast in town, the best Italian eatery, the most flavorful Asian place and a good restaurant that makes cuisine from your home country, for those nostalgic days. Lucky for you, I got you covered on three categories out of four of the best restaurants in Montreal.

As far as I am concerned, Italian food is one of my all times favorites. I could eat pizza and pasta all day, everyday for the rest of my life and live happily ever after. Although I try to eat clean, and exercise everyday, I’ve always said the day I set foot in Italy, I will gain 30 pounds and I cannot wait for the day I’ll explore this country to come!

Anyways, I decided to look for the best pizza places in town and it’s only right that I start my list with the first Neapolitan pizzeria in Montreal, simply called: Pizzeria Napoletana.

Tucked in Little Italy, which is probably one of the most charming neighborhoods in Montreal, this bring your wine restaurant completely won me over the moment I opened its front door; I felt like I was Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat, Pray, Love. The decor and the atmosphere made me feel like I was in Italy: people were loud, warm, laughing and enjoying themselves and I felt at home. 🙂

We arrived at 8:30 and a line had already formed outside.

We sat in the back of the restaurant and the waiter came with the most delicious meatballs I had ever tasted; so good we ate the remaining sauce with bread!

Then our pizza came. I was surprised to see that the (home made) tomato sauce was put on top of the cheese, but it was really good. The crust was thin and crunchy, which was perfect. The pizza were so big I couldn’t finish mine, so the waiter put it in a nice takeaway box for me. By the way, service was excellent: quick and efficient, although the restaurant was packed!

To finish, we had exquisite/better-than-your-favorite-coffeeshop-coffee: a cappuccino for me and an espresso for my husband.c
