Ottawa Best Hotel – Andaz Byward Market

The view from our room

As the final stop of our month-long road trip to Western Canada, we stopped by Ottawa for one night after an exhausting 11-hour drive, and stayed at the ever so gorgeous Andaz Byward Market hotel. Our experience was absolutely amazing. Ideally located in one of my favorite districts in Ottawa, the historic, always lively and super charming Byward Market, Andaz is the perfect place to stay for families, couples, business people, and groups of friends, as it offers a wide array of services that will exceed everyone’s expectations. First the refined interior design is to die for and the thoughtfulness of the employees is highly appreciated. Our corner suite had us gasp in wonder as we opened the door: the design, the furniture, the vieeew (!!!) on the City that I couldn’t get enough of, the succulent chocolate tart and cider bottle that awaited us, there was even the cutest cradle that almost made me wish we had a baby, the bathroom was a dream. The color palette was a flawless combination of white, gold, taupe and wood, that breathed finesse and luxury.

The service was fantastic and all employees whether at the front desk, at the restaurant, or the valet were impeccable. Speaking of the hotel’s restaurant, we had dinner at the Feast + Revel simply adored the experience. We sat on a comfortable table with sofa chairs facing the lively street that teemed with joyful-looking people passing by. Our waitress was ah-mazing – so knowledgeable, friendly and super professional. We ordered delicious in-house cocktails to kick off the festivities, and then proceeded with dinner.

I’m French, so anytime there’s bread on the table, I’m the happiest girl in the world. This brioche bread was so good!

Excellent Quiche

Albacore Tuna which tasted divine.

Italian Champagne

Delicious cocktails. I had the Quebec 75, made with Ungava Gin, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Grapefruit, Rose Sparkling Wine and LOVED it!

Kale + Bucatini, tasted amazing. Made with Kale pesto, bucatini pasta, chicken confit, mushrooms, goat cheese and cashews. Succulent.

Steak was tender and juicy. It came with a tomato and cucumber panzanella salad, house chips and lobster butter sauce. The combination of flavor was pure bliss to our taste buds.

Don’t even get me started on this chocolate tart, made with an award winning chocolate (world’s best chocolate!). I could have had 50 of these. Maybe more, no joke.

Our waitress told us about the rooftop lounge. Now if you didn’t know by now, I live for rooftop bars and restaurants and the Andaz has one of the most beautiful terraces I have seen, on the rooftop of the hotel, where we were told people lineup on the weekend, to enjoy drinks, good music and have the time of their lives. Lucky for us, it was a weekday and the ambiance was a bit more relaxed, which was perfect. So we grabbed our glasses of champagne after dinner and went to experience on the (heated) rooftop to explore the fun.

Breakfast was a dream.

I’d like to thank Ottawa Tourism for arranging our stay and dinner at the hotel and I’d also like to thank Andaz Byward Market for hosting us. Our stay was memorable.
