Healthy banana bread you will love – dairy free, gf, moist, with chocolate chips

healthy banana bread

healthy banana bread

Healthy banana bread is the healthy breakfast idea you need for busy mornings, or for mid-morning snacks. I love how easy to carry and how nutritious it is. I can claim that this is the best healthy banana bread you’ll find. The recipe I am about to share with you, the wheat flour has been replaced by rolled oats and there is no sugar added, beside the banana and the optional chocolate chips, which makes it a healthy low calorie banana bread recipe. If you are used to eating very sweet desserts or snacks, feel free to add 1/2 cup of maple syrup in the match, but I find that ripe bananas provide just enough sweetness.

This healthy banana bread is simple to make, with chocolate chips,  and you likely already have all the ingredients at home. It is moist, and tastes divine right when you remove it from the oven or re-heated in the microwave. To make it a healthy gf banana bread, just use gluten-free rolled oats.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup plant-based milk (I used vanilla-flavoured oat milk)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 2 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 1/2 pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • optional: 1/2 cup maple syrup

Instructions:

Grease a bread pan with your choice of butter or oil. I have used coconut oil. Preheat oven to 350 F.

Place oats in blender and blend well until obtention of a flour. Add in all the other ingredients except for chocolate chips and continue blending until all ingredients are all combined. Whisk in the chocolate chips and pour the batter in the the pan. Bake for 35 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave the banana bread in the oven for another 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool and enjoy!
