Brow Tutorial – Quick & Easy Way To Achieve The Perfect Brow Shape

Every time I meet new girls, the topic of my brows is almost always brought up. So I thought I’d just share with everyone how I achieve this shape.

The downside of being a brunette is undeniably that you’re hairy like nobody’s business, but the great part of being hairy (and it’s the only advantage here) is that you have naturally full brows that you might have been embarrassed about as a kid because they linked like McDonald’s logo, but once you reached the age where your mom allowed you to pluck them, you thanked goodness for their fullness because that’s exactly what allows you to have a beautiful shape.

The story of how I found this technique that I’ve been using for almost 15 years now, is actually super random. When I was about 14 or 15 years old, my mom would take me to this popular Lebanese esthetician in Senegal who would use the threading technique to remove facial hair and shape brows. It was SO painful, I’d cry my eyes out every time: she would do my brows and, the worst, my moustache. Do you know how sensitive your skin is around that area? I’m cringing just thinking about it! At one point, I just told my mom: “I’m done, I’m not going back there”. My mom had purchased me wax stripes for my legs and I just thought I’d try them on my face too. So after a couple months of trial and error – my brows had the worst zig zag shape – I finally mastered the technique. So much so, that I would do all my friends and cousin’s brows.

This technique is actually really simple and all you need are three products:
1.  Wax Stripes. I like to use the ones from the brand Veet. I’ve tried many different brands and this one is the one I prefer, as it removes hairs in one shot (vs having to go over two or three times with other brands, which deeply irritates and sometimes even tears your skin).
2. A large pair of scissors
3. A think cream to sooth skin afterwards and remove wax residue. I like to use Nivea.

Instructions:
1. Cut a one-inch layer of wax stripe as straight as possible.
2. Cut a second layer of wax stripe about half an inch, as straight as possible.
3. Warm up between your hands the first layer of stripe then peel it off. Place one on top of each brow. Make sure you place it according to the shape you want to give your brows. Use the same layer for the side of each brow. Leave for five seconds then remove.
4. Use the thinner layer of wax and place it under each brow. Don’t stick it on the whole length. Start around the bridge of your nose and stop at the arch of your brow. Then use the same layer and place each from the arch of your brow to the outer corner of your eye. Leave for five seconds then remove.

Voilà! If there are holes, you may want to fill them up with a pencil. If there are still two or three hairs, just pluck them with tweezers.
