The 23-room, tudor-style, four-star boutique hotels is one of the most unique hotels we’ve ever had a chance to stay at and certainly is one of the best Victoria hotels.
We arrived at Abigail’s late in the afternoon, just in time to catch the last minutes of the complimentary afternoon snacks that are served close to the breakfast area. You can make a plate of homemade hummus (which I was really impressed by) charcuterie, cheese, crackers and bread. We were starving so we made a plate of food and enjoyed it in the most charming garden ever. The garden of the hotel really feels like an intimate, romantic and quite haven of peace. We loved just relaxing there. On our first night at Abigail’s Hotel, we decided to grab have dinner at one of Victoria’s most popular restaurants, Il Terrazzo and dinner did not disappoint! We came back to our hotel room stomach full and opened the excellent choice bottle of Italian red wine that was in our room after which, I was ready to go to bed! Words could never describe how soft and comfortable the bed, the sheets and the duvet were. I felt like I was floating on a cloud. I was so pleasantly surprised that I couldn’t stop raving about it. We wanted to light a fireplace located in the beautiful library of the hotel but were waaay too tired that night to do so.
When we woke up the next morning, we weren’t sure about our plans for the day. I really wanted to go to Tofino and my husband really wanted to stay downtown, so as we enjoyed the most impeccable breakfast that I have ever had the opportunity to savour at any restaurant or hotel in my existence (and I’ve tried many), we decided to go to Tofino. But let’s elaborate about breakfast, because it truly was exceptional. First, the room is absolutely charming. The open kitchen allows you to see the Chef cooking and the waitresses and waiters are great. Abigail’s offers complimentary three-course breakfast, made of a bread basket (could include bread, muffins, croissants, or scones, for instance), a bowl of the TASTIEST fruits (all the fruits were naturally sweet. You could tell that they were hand picked and that the person who got them made sure they were going to be good.), and a choice of sweet, light and savoury main plate. The food was extraordinary. The savoury plates make for the perfect breakfast of champions: avocado, eggs, tomatoes, bread, bacon and potatoes. (Can you tell breakfast is my favorite meal of the day?)
We loved how intimate the hotel felt. Guests really feel like they’re taken care of to utmost perfection. We would definitely return to Abigail’s Hotel and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Victoria, BC. I would particularly recommend it to couples, as it was so romantic!
