Italian is always a good idea, when it comes to deciding which restaurant to go to, right? During our last trip to Toronto in July, we enjoyed dinner at Blu Ristorante and had the most amazing experience. Blu Ristorante & Lounge is located in Yorkville, which is my favorite area of Toronto.
The interior of the restaurant is all sorts of beautiful, elegant, romantic and cozy, with rock walls, subdued lights and live music which was simply amazing. We ate and drank to the rhythm of the pianist playing and singing some of the greatest hits (I actually had to hold myself from dancing! Yes, she was this good!)
We kicked off dinner with drinks, a Margarita for me, as always and a beer for the hubby. We then proceeded with entrées and mains. I went with the Zuppa Del Giorno (soup of the day) and my husband ordered a killer Nova Scotia Lobster, that was served with fired polenta, root veggie slaw, smoked paprika aioli and avocado puree and let’s just say I was above and beyond jealous when his plate arrived! Of course, I had a bite… or five 😀 But my soup was amazing too.
As mains, I had the phenomenal Herb Ricotta Stuffed Ravioli (can you guess who ordered seafood pasta again? -Yup, me!), made with succulent Nova Scotia lobster, mussels, cherry tomato, capers, and lobster broth; while my husband ordered the grilled 12oz AAA ribeye that he loved, with truffled potato, honey glazed cippolini, green beans and salsa verde. And to top everything off, I had a tiramisu with a latte. The definition of a perfect dinner if you ask me!
Our waitress was AMAZING. So kind, professional, very knowledgeable and cheerful. I highly recommend this place if you plan a visit to Toronto. Satisfaction guaranteed!
